Front pulley oil seal

I have a slight oil leak underneath the van which seems to be in line with the front pulley.
Suspect that it is the oil seal.
I believe that this can be changed with the engine in situ?
I have searched the wiki but cannot any detail regarding changing?
Any tips on changing would be gratefully received.
CU engine
Thanks

Not sure about the CU (Aircooled) block but the wasserboxer flat 4's have an oil pressure switch mounted below the front pulley, just make sure this isn't the cause of the leak before committing yourself to front pulley removal etc.

Mine had a leak from the crankcase seal nearest to the rear of the van (front, back?)
Turned out the crankcase vent hose had collapsed and the crankcase pressure was blowing oil past the seal, new hose and all is well.

oil is more likely leaking from elsewhere unless you engine is super clean.. Aircooleds generally start weaping oil from a lot of seals and joints after 20 odd years, a good degrease and close observation..
1984?? is it air cooled? must have been sitting around the converters etc for a bit....
But, a Haynes manual will have the procedure in it... google and the internet doesnt have all the answers...

Many thanks to everyone for the advice. As suggested I need to clean up the area in order to investigate it further, as it is off to France in a couple of weeks I will probably leave it until it returns from the trip.
