Oil pressure light wiring - HELP!!

Hi potential helpers,
I have a 1983 T25 Petrol with a 1.9 engine. It now has a new vege engine, but the mechanic is having problems with the Oil sensor light. It currently activates the light and it stays on. Does anyone know what the wiring is for this? I purchased the Haynes Manual but it has not shed any light.
Thank you in advance from a lady in distress - oh why did I buy this lemon!

There are two oil sensors.. which one?
The blue pressure switch (between the pushrods) is 0.3 bar and has a Brown wire attached which changes to a Blue/Black wire further in the engine bay on a two pin connector
This is the "low" pressure sensor that detects low oil pressure in the tappet gallery
the grey pressure switch on the rear of the engine (next to the oil pump and oil filter) is 0.9 bar has a brown wire attached to it which changes to yellow after a two pin connector in the engine bay
This is the "high" pressure sensor that detects low oil pressure from the pump
Both will cause the oil light to blink

Hi Kev,
Very good question and I am not sure which one. I will ask the garage and report back. It may well be that with all the useful information that you provided it has answered the question.
Thank you
Lee

it's not a lemon, it's old... and just needs fixing.
Now wash your mouth out

2 things strike me ...
a) a 1983 will probably only have the sensor between the pushrod tubes as it shouldn't have the B.o.D. circuitry. There is a single brown earth wire from the front nearside of the engine bay that passes to the sensor between the pushrods. There's a connector in that corner of the engine bay for this wire and if that's corroded or the wire has melted on the exhaust or rubbed through on the tube guard then it will earth out and the light come on.
b) this is a Vege engine .... therefore cannot possibly have a fault (

). Actually the second I've been told of THIS WEEK for all those who like to slag off Elite
