Is this an engine lid off a diesel?

I've been LPGing my petrol caravelle and run into a little clearance problem with the top of the carb aircleaner top touching the underside of the engine lid. :(
There appears to be a diesel cam cover or injection pump shaped recess in the insulation on the underside of the lid.

Does a petrol lid have a recess to match the top of the carb or are all lids the same?

It seems i have 3 options:
a: cut a section of the insulation away for a little clearance
b: look for a secondhand petrol lid (if they are different)
or
c: not worry about it touching slightly?

It's only insulation and as long as its on touching lightly I wouldn't worry. What have you done thats changed the height of the carb :? Or did it touch before?...

Mark :ok

It's now got a LPG mixer fitted to the top of the carb which increases it's height by nearly 2".
It's only just touching.
