litres !
I'll assume your renewing the fluid
Just bleed it till the new comes through
No more than 500 ml if your buying a bottle

Had the front brake hoses off and haven't topped up yet. Still 500ml?

Full bleed/change = 1 litre, if you are just bleeding the air out the fronts and a few pumps out the rears 500ml will do (as long as you didn't allow the resevoir to run dry?) otherwise a full bleed will be needed.
Should be changed every two years regardless of mileage covered.
Bleed from the furthest away from the master cylinder first (R/H/D that would be the N/S/R) making your way to the closest (bleeding last)

Hi,
Might also be worth bleeding the clutch at the same time as they share the same resevoir, the stuff from my clutch was almost as black as engine oil. Full flexi and rigid brake pipe change and two recon front calipers and clutch took just over 1L but this included quite a lot of flushing.
Cheers.. Phil

Hydraulic clutch shares brake fluid cylinder on mine, used just under a litre to fully bleed brakes and clutch last week.
