Westy gas tank refill adaptor (France)

Hi,

Does anyone know which adaptor you need to refill the underslung gas tank in a 1985 Westy in France?

Had a nightmare last year trying to get gas into it without the right part!

Had a look on Ebay but not sure exactly what it should look like and don't want to waste £24 on the wrong one!

Thanks,

Phil

Steve will (probably) what you want. I take it the standard westy fitting isn't used in france?

No, it's different (and gas goes everywhere while you try to force a litre in so you can cook dinner!), which is frowned upon by the French!

Option 1 ... Fill up in the UK before you leave ... our's lasts for months from full ?
Option 2 ... We use the 2 UK adaptors screwed together to fill the Westy tank here so why not just screw the French dish adaptor onto those ?

Thanks Ian,

Does a full tank still last ages if you're using it to run the fridge? I'm having the fridge repaired so that it runs on gas (for the first time in the 5 years that I've had the van) so have no idea how long it will last.

Cheers,

Phil
