I got one of these from Lidl a while ago and works ok. Though just want some user advice/question about them.

The Tronic charged my usual Leisure Eleschol 110ah up fine within 1 day.

However, now I am using the 6V function on it to separately charge my Trojan Traction batteries. First time I had to top them up in 13 months since purchase.I thought better to charge them up independant 6v, then 12V Serial connection like my Altenator does in the van.

However had the Tronic on for 5 days now. I taken a reading at the terminals and it's currently 6.58V. Ok it probably inaccurate reading, as it's building the charge up.

Is there any way the Tronic could over-charge a battery?

it is actually designed for these traction batteries nesty ...so let it do it's thing

Must admit the traction batteries been well ok. They only down to 60% and I really have hammered them over the year like running additional chillbox for a number of hours etc!

I can't recomend these batteries enough!

No it can't overcharge the battery but on 6v the output is only a maximum of 0.8A it is only designed for small batteries upto 14AH. It will charge larger batteries but will take a very long time.

It's getting there, but most prob take in excess of 10 days to fully charge.

I must admit these are by far the best purchase I have ever made for my T25. I think something should be put in the club wiki on these!

I just comeback from 3 solid weeks on the road in Wales. I had hook up for one night (as it was mandatory in price) but rest of the time no hook up. Were the Trojans worried; not at all.

Just beats me why people pay extra for hook up when camping. I have saved a fortune so far and the batteries paid for themselves twice over!

Agree. I have a complete 12v system and one of these which are rare as hens teeth - 240v in - 12v 17amps out if mains is going free .

Nice one. The Tronic still charging. I think Kev right could be 2 weeks!

Took 8 days for a full charge. Good little units these Tronic chargers.

They are excellent. My old man bought one for charging his leisure battery in his caravan and thinks its ace. Now and again if you really flatten a battery out you need to give it about half an hour or more on a regular charger or the Tronic thinks theres no battery there. A few have complained about this on 80/90 in the past but I'd rather have a charger that didn't boil your battery. I've had the Tronic rescue batteries that had stood for two years or more with good results too.

I totally agree. I had to do that work around for 30mins if a battery totally dead.

However they are safe units these Tronic. Also when I think I only paid £12 for it. It's a bargain!

Cheap Trojans available here if you really must have them.
