I've been down the injector cleaner in the diesel route and sorted out my glow plugs etc, but i feel i may need my injectors cleaned properly by someone who knows what they are doing . The engine was replaced at about 83k and has done about 7k on the engine. She still has a white smoke issue for about 15 secs on cold startup. The cam belt was slipping slightly,so that got changed and had a good service. I can only assume that the injectors were not cleaned and just taken off old engine ,as other parts would have been..
I have found afew injector cleaning companies on-line and are more than reasonable on price.A Garage will charge me a hell of alot more money that i don't have at the moment .. One company i found on-line was called - injector tune

If anyone can recommend this company or have used someone that could do the job then i would be greatfull of the help.

The BMW club I am part of recommend injectortune although I have not used them personally. I have just used these guys in Ashford who did a good job on 8 for the bimmer , £12 a pop (petrol)

They use the cleaning machine from these guys who list some other shops closer to you http://www.asnu.com/centers/southeast.htm

Takes a few hours depending on how badly gummed up they are so drop them in in the morning, pick em up at night and save on the postage

The injectortune guys quoted me £65 inc insured p&p which i thought wasn't bad at all.., but i'll check out the asnu first..

Is the £65 for a sonic clean or £65 each for rebuilt injectors with new nozzles ,needles and springs ??

You can dismantle the injectors & clean them your self.But spring pressure and other factors require facilities to test them.

Mechanical Diesel injector cleaning standard service from injector tune

Inspected, tested for spray pattern, 'pop' pressure and flow rate
Disassembled and degreased with any loose corrosion removed
Ultrasonically cleaned in a hot solvent solution to remove all sludge and grime
Nozzle de-coked and cleaned
Nozzle and internals ultrasonically cleaned as previous in a seperate tank
Flushed, dried and reassembled
Tested for new spray pattern, 'pop' pressure and flow rate
Customer informed if new nozzle is needed (supplied and fitted at an additional cost)
Lubricated and securely packed prior to dispatch
Returned to customer using priority postage insured up to 500 (unless extra insurance is required) along with service report if necessary

That's not a bad price then ,
My local Bosch/Diesel specialist will 'pop-test' ,spray pattern , stage test the injectors for nothing , then tell you what is needed , When I had all 6 done in the LT they all needed rebuilding and cost over £200 ,so your £65 for 4 is a good option


Do you use the cold start first thing ?

Maybe i'll give them a bash and see what they are like and hopefully pass on the good news to all..

the cold start is either on or off , pull it out fully as you turn the key in the ignition
