Hey all,

Just double checking that a 2.1MV engine requires 8-9l of coolant! Only ever changed a 1.9!

Cheers

What you will find though is only 7 - 8 litres will drain out leaving 8 - 9 litres still in the system. If you just -refill you will end up with too higher concentration but more importantly, a mix of old acidic antifreeze in with the new.

This is why it is important to properly flush out the old coolant leaving nice clean water in the system.
Like I say...drain from a couple of points to ensure there is enough space for the new coolant.

50:50 mix good quality OAT long life Antifreeze that meets VW spec or if you are feeling flush, G12++.

Thanks for the advice!

I normally detatch the low pipe under chamber four and once the old coolant stops dripping itself out I stick a garden hose in the pipe and hold it in with a rag. After about half an hour I'm happy it's just clean water in there.

I got 8 bottles of G12++ off eBay for £43 posted.
