This is the van
Image
And this is the first problem
Image
Image
There was alot of filler in the arch and rust underneath it. The seam rash wasnt as bad as it looked but after its done it will be trated.
Image
Image
Started to remove
Image
And removed
Image
Amaizingly there wernt any other repairs required. :D
Tacked in
Image
Good fit. Good lines
Image
Welded and sealed
Image
Onto the other side. Front and back knackered
Image
Image
cut out
Image
And fitted. Again fairly straightforward with no other repairs needed.
Image
Rear lower corners are going to be replaced just didnt have the panels to fit.
Image

More to follow as and when :ok

A quick update..
Rotten arch and step.

Cut off and trial fitted arch
Image
Rotten bits of step cut out
Image
Arch fitted
Image
Started to repair cab step. A long story
Image
Image

The cab step was bought off schofields and was an absolutely crap fit. It didnt fit anywhere and all profiles were wrong. I tried to cut bits out to use but none of it was right. So its being taken back and im going to get a body cut if i can.

Image
and all done
Image
Rear corner being cut out

What about schofield front arches? Only other option is to use an 25 year old one cut off a van which may look ok but you never know

I agree with micky the steps are crap. The arches arnt great either as they dont match up anywhere near with the step. It took a lot of bending and working to get it something like and it will need a skim of filler. I was lucky to get a cut off a bus that was usable. It makes a change. :D

Righto an update.
Started off cutting out a bit of rear valance
Image
And let in a piece
Image
Image
Rear lower corner went in finally
Image
Image
With good panel lines
Image
The bottom of the front arch was rotten so decided to just use a piece of a repair panel instead of the whole lot. When i removed arch this happened
Image
A quick patch made up and let in
Image
Arch and a couple of other repairs made
Image
Image
And finally had to do the lower corner/ cab step. Again didnt fancy a repair panel so got a bodycut and let it in.

Had one last day on the van today, just had the window and front screen to repair.
The side window and front screen popped out fairly easily.
When they came out we found this
Image
Image
The side windows didnt look too bad but once cleaned up there were holes present so i had to replace some bits.
I had got hold of a complete window surround so the repairs were all the right profile.

Then it was onto the windscreen. Both corners needed attention and there was also a hole in the centre of the panel.

Forgot to take pics when they were cleaned up.
But its all done and thats another bus finished.
