brakes gone

Went to head off yesterday and took a quick look at the ground underneath first (bet every t25 owner does this by habit) and noticed a wet patch. The bottom of the fuel tank was damp but no smell of fuel so assumed brake fluid. Quick start up confirmed it. Had a feel underneath and got handfuls of wet rust from the pipes.
Any ideas what this could cost to get repaired. I don't have the skills or space so off to a garage with it.
Enjoy the bank holiday too.

Brakes are an unknown when it comes to cost. Depends whats gone and what else looks likely to follow it. Invariably in removing one item, a pipe will break and in trying to get that off, the next section gives up the ghost. Just find a garage you trust and let him/her deal with it.

Brickwerks says he charges a day to do them all, its a bugger of a job to get all of them done esp the front to backs without taking the tank out.

You might consider switching to copper-based pipes. I did that as I didn't fancy a repeat in a few years time

Got the brakes done. Complete copper system, replaced two rusty rear nipples and both rear hoses for 204 sheets and they only had the van for a day. Pleased with that.

Got it done at Cockerills in Oadby. Family business been going for years with good reputation. If I was a garage I'd look after an old vw owner, its ongoing work isn't it?

This is why people should grease up their pipes.
