Confusing switch behind leisure battery

Hi,

I have just replaced my leisure battery (old one kaput!) and have found a switch behind where the battery sits. The only markings on it are an "S" for one way and a "D" for the other. I'm a bit confused. Should it be on one for split charging, and the other when i'm camped out? Or should I just buy a new split charge relay and fit it myself so that I know whats what?

Also, i've noticed that when i'm on electric hook-up, the interior lights that run off the leisure battery don't work. :?

Any ideas would be gratefully received! :ok

without a picture ( which maynot help us anyway) its hard to guess......

for instance, i have a few switches near my leisure battery
one switches the split charger on and off
one switches the heater from the leisure battery to the main battery
one switches the main power to the domestic control panel
one switches the 12v kettle point on and off
one switches the mains battery charger from the leisure battery to the main battery.

i also have a couple of relays other than the split charge......
one switches the power from all no van items from the leisure battery when the engine is running
one switches everything from the leisure battery onto the PSU when hooked up
and one switches the power to the fridge when the engine starts

best suggestion i can give is to operate said switch whilst find out what does or dont work accordingly
switch everything on, and work the switch, see if anything stops??

as for you r 12v lighting, it must have a relay installed to stop the power when hooked up im guessing, but why??????
