My T25 has just failed it's MOT (brake pipe and welding mainly) both steps have rotted although were only welded 2 years ago according to the former owner (my uncle so believe him) the question is Should i buy new steps such as those on JustKampers or just have a plate welded on (a plate obviously cheaper) i think the steps are £24 ea plus £6.50 for rubber cover!

Any advice would be much appreciated as i'm new to this and it's the Campers first MOT in my ownership.

I used those so called new steps - I found that they were very flimsy and were a very poor fit (and were most probably used on the previous repair). If I had to do it again I would make my own up out of heavier gauge metal. It shouldn't fail the MoT on the steps alone.
It all depends upon if you can weld or know someone you trust to do it as to how you get it done - it might not just be the bottom of the step and need fabricating further up. If you do a search on the forum you will find that it is a common repair.

Thanks for the info i'll give the steps a miss, unfortunately it failed on various bits of welding including around the filler cap (as it's close to the seat belt mounts). I've been quoted £150 for all the work including a new brake pipe - so not too bad i don't think!
