diesels over heating/reliability,whats the truth-im worried

:x eyup again ducks,im taking the camel back for its re-test in the morning,300 f*****g quid and i did all the work myself,i degress!,im getting a bit worried about tall the talk about over heating,ive just dropped a 1.9 n/a diesbag in a 1983 holdsworth villa pop top and im hoping that the ball n chain can go to newquay in it in august,but whats the s.p on over heating,ive got a radiator hot all the way up,so i think its bled uo okay,water out of the rad bleed nipple,is there anything to be aware of,apart from that i think it should run forever,marladys got the same engine in her golf and its gone round the world(literally)without so much as a hiccup,have i been drawn in by the needle watching anoraks or is my torture justified........HELP ME OBI-WAN-KENOBI,YOU ARE MY ONLY HOPE :cry:

ive just done the same swap and was thinking there was a rad problem, i didnt bleed the rad though, just filled it from top engine hose and header and expansion, ran it hot and just kept filling the header. the guage needle is in a different place but its a different motor? as long as its steady i dont care, the rurn hose from the rad stays cold for a long time so i will probably bleed the rad at some stage,
