Seem to have another engine code oddity
This block is obviously been reworked but it looks like the old code was DJ and they stamped DG again to be sure you knew about it
By the way it had a Solex carb on the manifold

you sure thats not DF?
the casings are the same tween dj and dg anyway i think.....
is it a df manifold then? ports are smaller than a dg/dj/mv/ss/dh ect

Yes the manifold is DF (Solex carb)
Probably is a reworked DJ then if they have the same casings

Does the part number on the side of the sump end in a "B" or no B there??
Solex carb is 1.9 DF 60bhp has small port heads with smaller valves.. but doesnt mean that engine is a DF as anything can be bolted in to an engine..
early (no "B" on part number) cases were only 1.9 and wont take a 2.1 crank without work, bearings are harder to get too..
All "late" case's can be any flavour of engine code....

Mmmmm, intriguing will have to have a closer look at it when I dig it out from under the TAT that surrounds it and see what's what
Its deffo not the engine code on the log book as that states DF ,mind you there's nowt to say this engine was ever in this van
This engine was in bits when I acquired the van about 6 year ago after being told over the phone it was air-cooled
