Hello all,
I have a 1983 1.9 petrol westy , into which I plan to put the aaz turbo diesel engine. I am finding it hard to get a vento/golf donor, and ther seem to be more Audi 80 turbo diesels around. Is this the same as the VW aaz engine, or are there any perculiar differences which would affect thw swop?

Not had my hands on both (others who have may be along soon) but the Golf and Audi 80 appear to have different part numbers for the AAZ 'block and pistons', so I suspect the Audi 80 version may have some differences for the longitudinal mounting, as do later cars eg. Passat and A4.
