Hi, I have a been given a 75AH leisure battery. I charged it fully then turned on the CD player. The CD player flashed on, off,on,off,on,off etc etc whilst the voltage on the leisure battery went up and down from 12.5v down to 9, then 11, then 8, then 9 etc. Whats going on ?.Is it that I need a bigger leisure battery to run my CD player ?.

Leave the leisure battery for a couple of days after charging - it should read 12.6 to 12.7v if it's any good. The fact that the starting voltage after charging was only 12.5v is ominous.

That's why you were given it.... it's shagged
You can use a starter battery for a cheaper alternative... UK code 096 will fit in the battery box under the pass seat

I have a decent second starter battery which'll do in the short term. I run the CD occasionally and have x1 strip light connected to it so it's not going to get much of a bashing . Top gift that was then

. In fact it charged to 12.9 last night, this morn it was 3v and it then recharged to 2.9 in abt 15 mins, definitely well n truly stuffed
