On the button you hold in to prime there is a wire. What is this for?

ignition for gas?? Probably a 12v connection

Have a look at this manual (US version so check it is the same)

Just took out fridge again. Seems to be for the thermocouple. Not sure why though.

maybe for flame failure? If the pilot goes out, does the ignition start sparking? A flame produces a small current, if this disappears, for safety ignition will start. this is what happens on older boilers anyway, pull it off when fridge alight and see if it starts sparking.

My laptop is fooked so doing everything from my phone.

The wire seems to be and earth. The fridge lights without it connected. No auto sparked. May have to go home and check my other van.

thinking about it, if you have a piezo ignition, it wont be a flame faliure device. the way i tested my autohome fridge was to light fridge, turn off gas supply and ignition should start sparking. Dependant on your model yours will do the same, or gas supply will shut off

Sounds like the wire that goes to the "fridge running on gas" LED on a Westy control panel. Connect a bulb between this wire and a 12v supply and see if it lights
up when on gas (and goes off if otherwise)
