Could it be the glow plugs???

Heeeelp!!!

New starter fitted but still have problems starting from cold :x could it be the glow plugs? How can i tell if it is?

Its a 1.6 non turbo

Test if you have 12v going to the feed wire to all glow plugs 1st, if so, remove the plugs and test them with a pair of jump leads. Earth lead to the body thread or hex and power lead to the feed pin. They should glow red pretty much all the way up the heater element within 2-3 seconds. Any longer or if it's not uniform, then stick a new set in.

Almost certainly is the glow plugs!

FYI these are considerably cheaper on flea bay than from the parts shop... I can usually find a buy it now set of 4 for less than £15 delivered, compared to £30+ in the shops.

Buy Bosch ones and you won't have to replace the cheapos every year.

Indeed, but the bosch ones are considerably cheaper on fleabay too!

Incidentally, the cheapos easily last 2-3 years.

before you go spending cash, open up the little black box in the engine bay, on the lhs front wall, and inspect the fuseable link below the glowplug relay, its a common thing that they "fuse " with age...
