dash removal

well fancy getting the heater going ........so far pretty straight forward apart from not sure how to take the knob off the cold start cable? ( 1.6d)
Didnt want to bost the thing b4 asking advice! I pressume the knob has to come off and not un do the cable? :shock:
Also supposed to see two phillips screws above the rad behind the front grill......can see a nut and bolt but thats it??

Cold Start handle - Lie on the floor and look up at it, you see four screws along the bottom of the surround, undo these and it should be free of the dash IIRC and if it's the same as an 87 van.

Dunno about the rest.

Thinking about this I think mine is different to what you say your 'newer model'. Cant see that mine splits in anyway from the dash....still have a look tomorrow. D

Ok sorry about all this...... should have mentioned 1983 1.6d errrrrmmmm nope no screws underneath that enables the cold start to drop down....? Not covered in me manual doh! Help
