The gearbox input shaft spiggot bearing on my VW T25 has collapsed and the rollers disintegrated, does anyone know where to get a new one and is there any special way of getting the old one out.

Here ya go ... http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... ory_id=123

A search of the techy forum will reveal the ways we've done it in the past.

It may help the OP and other for future reference to see how far people push the bearing into the crank when installing it?

Cheers

This has been covered time and time over ... as said before posting a question you should try doing a search. You may be new but the subject isn't

Don't you think it is still important to discuss issues like this as they clearly are still over looked by many owners.

OP my advice would be to try and remove it from behind using a bolt head or similar as you will find that if you try and collapse it initially you may damage the crank (although if you are careful you will be fine)

cheers

As I said a search would show I've removed one with an M6 rawlbolt and improvised slide hammer .... it's all there if you try and look.

Mine wouldn't come out without removing the flywheel, Maybe I have an after market flywheel but measuring the new one against the hole was plain to see it would not go through.

The end of the crankshaft has a bore that fits the bearing so you cant push it in too far.
