charging leisure battry with mains through zig

Hello I'm having a few problems with charging my leisure battery with the mains power through my zig unit. I've done a forum search and have read through the zig manual, but still am unable to solve this problem. charges fine when engine is running, but does nothing with 240mains :?
I've checked all fuses and wiring everything seems fine, also tried all combination's of buttons on the zig to no avail so was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and solved it.
cheers :D

Whem mine gave similar problems, it was the main fuse in the zig unit. Not blown but the contact not contacting correctly. I found that if i put my ear to the zig unit and it was charging correctly you could hear a slight buzz. If i didnt get the buzz i would push/twist the fuse holder a bit until i got the buzz. If yours does the same, you just need a new fuse holder, or do what i did and fiddle with it every time i hooked up

Thanks for the reply :D I did take the fuses out for a check and made sure I didnt over tighten so it may be a bit loose...will check connections with the fuse. Think I have noticed a hum before on hookup so it must have worked, probably before I tinkered :?
thanks again :ok

have you checked to see if your getting 240 volts in the van? could be an iffy hook up or a dodgy wire feeding the zig just a thought

Have you checked this? Not the three 12v 10A ones, the little 3A (I think) mains power to the Zig unit itself.

maybe - maybe not; depends if it's 'connected' loose or 'disconnected' loose. I'm assuming it's a CF6 or CF8? Looks like this?

it is a cf8 looks exactly the same as yours but in black :D the 240 works through the installed socket and 12 works fine too, just 12v charging through the 240 seems to be the problem. dint use the 240much but would be good to get it working as it should!
thanks for the reply!

Does the fat amber transparent switch at the top LHS of the Zig unit illuminate when you're hooked up and it's switched on?

Faulty thermal trip?
Faulty overcurrent trip?
Faulty transformer?
Possibly bridge rectifier?

All easy replaced

I presume you've checked it's actually wired up to the Zig unit?

thanks for the diagram :D should come in helpful!
checked all the wiring and that appears fine and all in the right places...I've had it work before so should be able to get it going again!
thanks again :ok
