what wheels?

Hello all
I've recently had my van resprayed which I am extremely pleased with. Shaun @ Spray Shack, Great Dunmow - top fella.
The only problem is, this has made my high top (could not quite afford to get this done at the same time) and my wheels look pants! The roof I will deal with later, but the wheels I want to change soon. I currently have standard steel wheels.
I really like the look of the (what I think are called ) multivan wheels, but am too tight to part with the sort of money these go for. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives similar in style?
Many thanks in advance
I believe fitting is 5x112
These are what I can't afford:

Buy some caravelle plastic hubcaps (cover the whole wheel) and save up for the carat alloys above

I always find that if you settle for something that you don't really want, you end up buying the ones you really wanted and wasting money.
Well thats what i do anway

I know that will definitely happen
At this stage I can't even find caravelle/carat type plastic trims anywhere.... looking at some of the prices I have found on similar ones makes me think I should just buy the real thing anyway

Can a single VW plastic wheel trim really cost £30+??
Funnily enough after 17 years of driving - this is the first time I have ever thought about purchasing any.

Yeah, sometimes they pop up dead cheap, try a wanted ad. Someone might have some kicking around.
Another option is to pop to halfords and get some 14" wheel trims, some of them are quite nice.
Those carat alloys seem to appear at the shows, between £250-£300 for a set normally inc tyres. I'd imagine they will rise in price every year.
Alloy wise have you looked at merc 15"?

cheers Lloydy
I like the top two merc wheel links, but got my heart set on the carat ones I think! BTW, would a standard merc wheel and tyre be ok for the weight of these busses?
Just looked out my front window at my c class sport merc with 17" AMG alloys..... I wonder if work would notice if I swap with for the steelies!
Think I'm going to find some plastic trims and then save the cash to get what I want. Yep, keep seeing them on ebay etc going for £350+. The ones in the photo above went for just shy of £400. I guess not too bad inc tyres, but more than I can justify right now after the respray costs..... My Mrs can't seem to get her head around the amount of money I seem to be able to spend on my (I mean 'our') Westy
I feel a bit like I'm 17 again contemplating the Halfords option... but I'm gonna look tomorrow. You never know, they may improve performance, just like the new paint did

I'd be a bit suspect of the load rating of the A class ones, as for the others, well a lot of people seem to fit them. Thats about as much as i know

May try and get down there as not going away now until next Bank Hol.
are they like this:
if so, I like them. They have the square edge that I think suits the shape of these buses

V nice

16's I assume?
Looks like they could be a straight fit, but need to investigate.
What is the handling like with the bigger wheels and does it affect the speedo accuracy much? I can't go very fast anyway, but nice to know these things
