pop top hinge fix

Hi
I have had my devon pop top ayer now, so i decided to see why the front roof strutt was not attached to the rrof, i could hardley move the strutt, it would apear to be in good condition, while i tried to put it on the front hinge over the cab area decided to part company with the roof, i can see a load of sealer all over this area.
My question is can i drill out the rivets in all the other hinges and lift the pop top up on the hinged side to carry out a repair, also if i need to weld the roof, which is more than likely, how do you get the head linning off in the cab area.
I will also like to replace the seal around the pop top while i carry out the roof repairs as my seal is held on with silicoln and looks a mess where it is falling apart, if any other devon owners have replaced theirs, where is the best place to get one from.
