Oil for CU engine

Which oil? The wiki and some posts I managed to find on here (search didnt find anything, guess oil is too short aword?) all say 15W40, but the Haynes manual says 15W50.....which is it and whats the difference?

halfords classic 20/50 is good mate. stick that in and you wont go wrong. Either of those two will work though, as long as its mineral its good.

All are right....some prefer 20W50 in older air cooled's because they say they leak less when this more viscos oil is used. 15W50 would be best of both worlds being the same viscosity when hot as 20W/50 but slightly thinner when cold (a definate bonus for initial lubrication) and if you have a low mileage CU then the 15W40 is probably better suited.....but as I said ALL are correct but one might be better suited.
