can anyone tell me how to remove a pair of captains seats on swivel bases? Its obviously easy to undo the four nuts on the retaining boltsbbut how do you remove the lever that goes through the seat base that you pull to make it spin?I can't work it out mind you I am not the sharpest tool in the set when it comes to mechanics.Any pointers would be very welcome.

Hi
On my Westie after you undo the bolts lift up the centre plate only off the bolts(the handle thingie will prevent complete removal) once free of them turn the centre plate a quarter of a turn towards u and the handle thing should be easy to remove backwards through the slot in the front of the battery box.
I know what I mean and hope this helps a little.

Have you lifted the small hook. This lets you slide the seat from the swivel.Unless yours are different.

when you have undone the 4 bolts lift the top part of the base up and spin it so that the lever comes out of the hole.

and if you want to sell the base let me know.......

cheers

Hi,

If you are selling the seats, how much are you asking? Are they in good nick? I've got some non-VW seats in at the moment and they are terrible...want to put some proper VW seats in.

Thanks a lot,

Cord.
