Advice on Summer trip to Germany please..

Hello,
I intend to go to the German Grand Prix in July this year.
First big outing in Aubert, my CT engined 1980 T25
I put a post in Camping wondering if any one else might be going, but with no replies as yet.
I shall be taking my time, travelling from central France, and would appreciate advice and suggestions on a route and places/things to visit.
I have no experience of camping in Deutchland, but I do speak a little german.
Are there the equivalent of the French 'camping municipales', or 'aires' on the motorways.
I appreciate this posting should perhaps be in Camping,.......... but lets face it........ General Chat it where all the FUN is
Cordialement,

Hello,
Thank you for your replies.
No kids, just 2 adults.
I would like some good visits/ overnights, but not too crowded, as I understand the German F1 is
non-stop.
I would like to do a round trip.
I've got GPS.
Are there any German club members to call on
Cordialement,

Not sure where the German F1 is or where you will be going, but we stayed at the municipal site in Munich (well - just outside, but great bus/tube connections to city centre). Munich is a fabulous city and well worth a visit. We also stayed at Camping Belchenblick at Staufen im Breisgau in the southern Black Forest (not far from Freibourg). At this site you get free train travel and free entry to the local swimming pool (outdoor).

Do the grand prix then head for nurburgring but don't pay to go in use a park platz then you can camp over night for free and watch the cars.
Also bottrop for a wicked indoor ski run, 35 euros in drink eat and ski all day for that price!!!

Hello,
Hey the ski ing sounds too good to miss as we went 8 times this year locally
Now that it looks as though I'll go via Munich, with my boxes of engine tuning tricks, .....
Are there german/ swiss/ NE France members out there who would like a visit

Rudesheim is not too far away.
There's the Droselgasse (Street of a thousand bars)
Great campsite just to the east end of town by the Rhine

There's also the Asbach Distillery there.....

We will be travelling through Germany and Austria again this year. Our first 2 nights saturday and sunday 9th and 10th July will be on a campsite in Koln Poll, a lovely site on the Rhine. This particular weekend is the Rhine in lights weekend when boats sail down the river with lots of lights and fireworks. The last time we were there 2 years ago we came through the gates of the campsite and were faced with a large VW banner it was a local club having their annual bash, lots of music and drinking we had a great time and we have arranged to be there again this year
