Gas tank Filling stop valve

I started to take the cover off the filling stop valve on my westy's gas tank today; once I cracked the cap a little I got a blast of liquid on my hand, freezing it.

I am assuming that this isnt normal, does anyone have any advice or repair suggestions?

Thanks in advance :)

It isn't unusual for a little hiss of gas to escape when undoing the valve fill cover...if thats what you're asking.

i've never experienced that in 7 years - there's gas in the line between the filler and the tank under pressure but it shouldn't leak past the filler valve, check with Steve

i assume you are speaking of the underfloor domestic lpg tank?

it is NOT normal for any gas to eascape from the filler when you take the cover cap off....

you need to get that checked .....

I will give it another try a bit later, to make sure its not just a bit that has leaked into the cap.

I noticed gunzl sell the fueling unit for 109 euro, so all is not lost if its broken.

I will give Steve a ring later on and see if he can help, Cheers :)
