Wastegate adjustment JX Engine

Hi folks,

I've just freshened up the motor in my T25 ready for the camping season and on checking everything on a road test, i've noticed the boost is very low (around 3 psi). The turbo is in excellent condition and I have blocked the blow off valve, but will turning the adjustment screw in (clockwise) on the wastegate give me a little more? I have turned the max fuel screw in a touch so that i get a small amount of black smoke through the rev range too.

Cheers all

hi Evsi, where are you mesureing the boost?it might be worth trying "www.vwdiesel.net"..go to faq[in the english section].
When i tried to mesure the boost on my van[at the lda actuator]i could'nt get a reading[on a tyre gauge].
but it is working the lda ok
I hope this helps.

Hi mate. I've tapped a boost gauge between the lda and the inlet manifold. It just seems a bit lame on the road compared to what it was.

Seems fine dude, holds nicely on a pressure tester. Just seems that the turbo isn't giving its all. Went away on the weekend and it definitely hasn't got the legs it had last season. I shall have to get looking at it over easter!
