swap sliding door for a panel?

Hi,may sound a daft question but is it possible to remove an offside s/door,and fit a full panel from roof gutter down from a van?thanks

Anything is possible if you got the time/money. Why do you want to get rid of the slider?

Looks like it'd just be a case of closing off/removing the runners and welding in a new panel.
I quite fancied going the opposite way and fitting an offside door to my caravelle.

I put the top part of a panel in my panel van to make it look like a factory fitted window. It was pretty easy to do so, another lad had the bottom half the panel and he said it was fairly straight forward.

easy to fill the panel , much more work to fit a sliding door to a panel!

is it a late or an early van? Isnt the c pillar a different shape on the later vans?

nope
look at a later van, it has a tab welded onto the pillar to take the striker pin
underneath is the early mount pressing

thanks for all the replies,sounds like its quite straight foward,its on a 1990 van,its a camper. i dont like the look of it,thays why im thinking of changing it.thanks again.
