am booked on a ferry out of dover on Tuesday...am driving down Monday night and plan to camp over in the van. the dover port website says it will cost £13.50!anyone know of any better options? thanks..any info will be much appreciated. cheers.

There's plenty of nice little rural back lanes within ten minutes drive of the port. Must be somewhere likely if you're happy to spend a bit of time bimbling - or trawling around on Streetview... (Might even get a decent view)

Have a search on here - some of the guys/girls used a sleepy spot near a memorial overlooking Dover. Jed, Onion and a few others.

Look on the wild camping map in members only forum, there is a cracking one we have used quite abit. Its quite popular with the frenchies too as well as the Dutch etc. If you wander down the footpath it takes you to a nice little bay with tunnels dug into the cliffs from WW2 and they are good to have an explore in (though I dont know if your suppose to) and there is quite a nice pub to sit outside of for a few drinks to get you in the holiday mood. Hope this gives a suggestion how nice it is and you can see France from your van
