There's plenty of nice little rural back lanes within ten minutes drive of the port. Must be somewhere likely if you're happy to spend a bit of time bimbling - or trawling around on Streetview... (Might even get a decent view)

Have a search on here - some of the guys/girls used a sleepy spot near a memorial overlooking Dover. Jed, Onion and a few others.

Look on the wild camping map in members only forum, there is a cracking one we have used quite abit. Its quite popular with the frenchies too as well as the Dutch etc. If you wander down the footpath it takes you to a nice little bay with tunnels dug into the cliffs from WW2 and they are good to have an explore in (though I dont know if your suppose to) and there is quite a nice pub to sit outside of for a few drinks to get you in the holiday mood. Actually a walk along the cliffs is also good, its at the start of this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buI7Xd3OzOE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and at the beginning of this one too when loads of us stayed there, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0A3FlCEvYg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hope this gives a suggestion how nice it is and you can see France from your van :mrgreen:
