engine running rough after clutch replacement

Hi
Had the clutch replaced on my 81 2.0l Aircooled today, they dropped the engine out and left gearbox in place, now the brake peddle feels quite hard and the engine is running a bit rough.
Has anyone got any idea at what i should check over, the brake peddle is worrying, would they have had to disconnect a vacum tube etc.
any help, greatly appreciated
Ian

Yup....you have it...there must be something wrong with the vacuum pipe/union or one way valve coming from the inlet manifold. The hard brake pedal is a sign, combined with the rough running, both indicate an vacuum/air leak so it's pretty much a cert that this is where the fault lies.

Take it back - and get them to bloody fix it - I'm sure they'll have raped you for the clutch replacement.
This really gets on my breasticles - you pay money to get the van fixed and some retard gives it back with new faults
I'm thinking of getting my own ramp - thats the only reason I might take it to a garage

Hi
Thanks Red Westie , all is well, found the vacun pipe with the union joint not connected to the inlet manifold, now she runs sweet as a nut, i was a bit worried when they said they were going to drop the engine out, you always hope nothing is going to be disturbed, it took them 3.5hrs, all the bolts on the engine cross member, were seized, i supplied the complete clutch and they charged me £175.00 for the labour.
I always try to do most of the work myself, work commitments forced my hand this time.
Many thanks again
