Oil leak bodge

So after my trip to north Wales last weekend - the old girl was using rather a lot of oil - about 2 ltrs per 100 miles
It was deposited mostly over the entire back panel of the pickup and I'm sure along many of the lovely welsh roads
When I got her home I had a good look - found it was leaking from what looks like the low oil sensor/switch from between the alloy tubes on the bottom LHS of the engine.
It wasn't connected to any wiring either
So - temp fix I thought - what would fit in that hole - after footering around my collection of bits I found that this has the same thread

For those that don't do bikes - it's a written off XTR rear mech and the thread on the bolt is the same whoopie!

So I grabbed a bit of Alloy and made a nice big lump to mimick the outer section of the old switch and fill the gap between the bolt head and sump

here's the finished part

fitted it and no more oil leaks

I know I could probably get one tomorrow for a fiver - but it was Wednesday night and I needed to fix it "Now"
Top bodging I think

it's a metric thread on that sensor, I hope your bodged bit is metric as well and not NPT which is very similar but I can assure you it wrecks metric..

then the new sensor won't fit..

Nope I double checked it by screwing the switch into my bike.
Bikes is the one thing I really know about
