Sorry - made a mistake with earlier post.....

Hi,

So after searching for a long time for a decent priced 2.0 CU replacement engine I think I may have another decent option of fitting a 2.0 CJ engine. I understand the tappets aren't hydraulic (no probs). But what are the other issues?

I understand the exhaust ports are oval, does this mean new heat exchangers? This wouldn't be a problem as one of mine already needs replacing. Which ones would I need, ones to fit a Bay? Is the exhaust itself different?

Cheers. :ok

The CJ can have either square or oval ports depends when it was made. If it has square ports then CU exchangers can be used along with the complete fan housing and alternator from the CU. Change the tinware, air filter, throttle linkage, engine crossbar and preferably the electronic ignition distributor from the CU.
Oval ports you will need to used bay window exchangers as they pick up the air direct from the fan housing. As above change the tinware air filter throttle linkage engine crossbar, distributor and you will need to fit an external regulator for the CJ alternator and a bit of extra wiring.
