well the syncro is 2wd short term. diff and other 4wd malarky is out ready for rebuild. just took it to swansea and it just not the same. the fear of getting stuck on dry tarmac is not rational but its there, even if only in the mind of the effected. :?

I feel for you.

That dry smooth tarmac can be a worry.

Will all be rebuilt and re-fitted soon, and feel like god intended. :ok

Does a 2WD Syncro drive better or worse than a regular 2WD?

My guess is worse ...especially with the weight over the front axle removed and higher point of gravity

If it makes you feel any better I currently have a front wheel drive syncro (decoupler+solidshaft) .Rear driveshafts have been removed as my cv joints are dead. Not using it as a daily driver mind you! Can't be healthy on the drivetrain having all the load on the front diff. I can say though a 2wd syncro in front wheel drive is horrible!

No feels better running the pick up in 2wd at the mo to let her bed and while I'm doing other things in shes higher than standard due to the stiffer springs and shocks and a lot higher than when she was 2wd due to more weight up front she's more balanced and nicer to drive, but a bit stiffer steering due to bigger wheels/tyres
