Hi

Tinkering with my cold start lever this morning I took the two rubber pipes off the injectors to get better access.

Having left them off for most of the day I now cant start the van - big air bubble in the clear plastic pipe from the filter.

Have tried sucking diesel through the black rubber pipes and reconnecting.. and failed . I am now waiting for rac to arrive before I flatten the battery...

Any advice welcome

Happened not far from home hence being able to post now

Will post update if and how rac guy bleeds the system

Reha

All sorted now - yes Julie ... that was me...

Before calling the RAC I tried bleeding the system myself by sucking diesel through the black rubber run off pipes as it seemed to draw the air bubble towards the pump. I now have bright red lips and all I can taste is diesel - even tho im on my 2nd can of 1664 of the evening !!

It was an air lock in the fuel line - After checking a few other things the RAC man disconnected the transparent pipe between the filter and pump - added a tennersworth of fuel attached a line with a hand "bulb" to prime the pump and bleed the systemand all is well. He said that the pump may be a bit "tired" and not able to draw the fuel with the air in it

The fuel was a bit low too and as the van was parked nose down on an slight incline he thought i may have drawn air in.

He recommmended putting an in-line hand primer - I think this was discussed recently and I may well do that

Anyway - alls welll and he also confirmed my theory that one or more of my glow plugs are dodgy based on the reading he took when checking the system ..

How is you new bigger van going ? I see you are keeping busy with improvements...
