what type of engine

Hi everyone. This isn't important but I'm curious. I have a 1.6 td in my van the prefix on the engine number is SB - anyone know what type of engine this is and what it came from - I was told (by the seller - a massive BS er it was a 2005 golf but it isnt

it is (or should have) a water cooled turbo and an intercooled if it is the gtd!

cheers James so it could be from a golf just 14 years earlier than seller said. Runs really well though no oil leak and starts every time. Amazed that its only 80hp,its not fast by any means but keeps up fine with the traffic.

syncroandy has a SB engine in his single cab. nice small little engine with a little bit more power than an aaz, enven though its a 1.6. may be worth droping andy a pm and you will get some real advice on this engine. i know he is in the process of upgrading it to a something more powerfull.
