Hi Guys, this is my first post and im very new to engines so hope some one can help....

Basically I have an unconnected wire, it could just be an earth but im not sure... Looks like it maybe should be connected to the side of the van under or around the coil?

After following it, it looks like it goes into 'the box' and it comes back around to the 'fuse thingy'

Should i just connect it to a bolt on the side of the van or will that blow me up?

Hope the pictures help

To check if it's an earth check for continuity between the ring on the end and the engine casing with a multimeter. Judging by the nest of splice connectors and the non standard relay it could be something to do with an alarm or the wiring for tow-hitch electrics?

Looks like it has or had a towbar fitted. Possibly it is the split charge relay for the trailer socket.

Ah ha... thanks!! Yes there is a towbar and step fitted with electric socket on there, but iv never used it... you reckon its for that then?

There is a bolt snapped off under the coil... looks like the only place it could really reach to... reckon i should attach it to the body above the coil or just leave it?

cheers
