Hi all

Just bought a 'VW T25 WOODEN LADDER' from ebay, to be used internally for getting kids into the hightop. Should hopefully save me getting up in the night or them using the interior as a climbing wall

It was listed as rare and manufactured by VW - did these actually ever exist?

Not too bothered if it is not a original part, just as long as it fits correctly as suggested in the advert. Just out of interest really if anyone had something similar!

Autosleepers have them.

Hopefully will do the job as saves making one.

I saw that for sale, don't think VW would supplied something like that, more likely the conversion company did.

Agreed, that would look better. Doesn't look like anyone made an original for the Westy.

I will see how I get on with this one and possibly upgrade if needed. The fact the wooden ladder doesnt fold might be an issue, but should be able to stow it ok up top.

I got this for mine, a step that fits on the front table leg, you can just see it on this pic

Ok, so I have been a muppet and bought something on ebay without fully reading the description or studying the picture! I can't say this is the first time I have done this, especially when it is an accessory for my van

To be fair, the description stated that this was a ladder, which it clearly is not. It is used to stow items up top (running horizontaly!) when moving and then may also keep the kids safe when using the high top. It has barrell bolts at each end and one horizontal bar is slightly longer than the other, I assume to match the curve of the roof. Having looked again at the picture it clearly is smaller than half a door, so how I was expecing this to aid my kids getting into bed I don't know! For some reason this passed me by in the excitment of the bid, so I am now a proud owner of a small ladder that is not even a ladder It is a high top bed guard/storage guard

If you know which conversion it was made for (not westfalia!!), then you are welcome to it. I'm in Colchester, Essex.

Put it for sale on here, someones probably been looking for something like that for ages. Got to be worth £30-£40
Have you got a front table? As that step is great, works really well.
And yes we've all bought crap on ebay

I'm far to good - have put it on the swaps & giveaways! Should maybe reconsider that.

On the look out for a front table also.... as well as a ladder The step you have is ideal, where did you get the step from?

Reproductions, but very good, can't recommend him or his work enough. He's running low though, so be quick!

Just seen this thread. Yes, it's a removeable 'barrrier' (for want of a better word) to stop anything stowed in the high top from falling off or kids falling out. Originally an Autosleeper 'Trident' fitting.
Autohomes 'Komets' have a piece of wood rather than a ladderish design - at least the ones I've seen do.

I certainly wouldn't risk actually using it as a ladder....

I have something similar in my 1987 Autosleeper Trident, however the long lengths are the same size. Can't be used as a ladder as is too short to reach the top bunk, looks to fragile anyway.

Niko has no steps and no table brackets for the battery box............I don't think he's planning on ever making any more

I've got one of these surplus to requirements and only used three times. Going for £50 +P&P. I can confirm they are not original Westy, but a good match on both colour and design. It stores nicely up top with the roof down. I've the lost the contact details of who makes and sells them direct.
