Thermo Mats

Do any of you guys in the Herts area have any of these JK thermo mats?
If so any chance of borrowing a set for the weekend? JK are out of stock untill next week.

Go to B&Q - buy a roll of underfloor insulation for laminate flooring. Cut to size, gaffer tape the edges. If you can get them use suckers to fasten it to the window, or velcro around the windows, or make them so that loop over the tops of windows/doors - there were four of us in a row at Bustypes with underlay thermo mats......

I think I have seen the suckers in a garden centre for putting bubble wrap on the glass of green houses.

If you used Duck Tape in silver instead of gaffer tape, could look quite good! think I'll be giving that a go myself!

you can get cheapo packs of hooks with suckers remove the wire hooks and get an eyelet kit and fit to your matts push backs of the suckers thru the holes and bobs your mothers brother

Tip from BVF - don't use double sided tape to fasten your underlay mats to the windows as you spend two hours with a bottle of white spirit removing the adhesive!!!!

im on my second van now using the b&q stuff
found a roll of stuff thats really good, about £6 a roll, need 2 rolls to do whole van including having to cut 2 pieces for screen then stick them together

"Duck Tape" is a brand name for an expensive retail version of gaffer tape. Another common name for Gaffer tape is Duct tape (as in Heating and Ventilation Ducts).....so Duck tape. Gerrit

BTW can you get these screens to fit so they're reasonably light proof ? I wouldn't mind chucking my tatty old curtains away completely and using these but waking at the crack of sunrise probably wouldn't go down too well.

depends what sort you get, the first stuff i used was pretty good but the latest stuff i found seems to have thicker foil on and is alot darker

My roll was 15 quid, and was enough for double thickness with a good bit of spare round all the edges (although I've only one window and rear screen in the back). It's PITCH black in there with them on, kids slept in till 9am.....it was great.....

I think our JK thermos were a good buy but they don't half cause alot of condensation
