USB sockets

Hello all. I've got a non working clock (it's a Ford one which explains why it's not working) and if I take it out I'd want to fill the hole with something. I'm thinking about adding an extra 12v + USB socket like this sort

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-Port-12V-24V-DC ... 387wt_1137

The question is could I wire it into the existing 12V socket? If I do do I need to change the fuse rating?

I'm sure I remember reading a post about this but search can't find it. Cheers.

would you wire it into the lighter socket?? if so you would be best to drop the fuse rating. having USB behind the steering wheel would n't be too useful. your call. You can get replacement clocks.

Oh yeah should have mentioned the Frankenvan. The clock is a square analogue one in the centre of the dash to the left of the faglighter. I don't have a clock in the binnacle, or in fact a working temp switch.
