Andreas springs

As heavy duty Trailmasters don't seem to be getting developed Andreas inconjunction with a spring manufacturer came up with these as an alternative to seikels which broke on Andreas in the Gobi desert

Hi,

I was tired of waiting, the eternal, and I now own a little off the ground!

Background:

After over 2 years I looked after with great vigor to the Trail Master Project and auditioned numerous times in person at the company Trailmaster had, I must admit now that I have almost no hope that this will be something else.

The already completed Trailmaster springs of the first (light) series are very suitable for light Syncros.

My car has but a daily weight of 2.5 tonnes, with traveling abroad reached quickly once a little over 3 tons.

Even with the 2.5 tonnes, the progressive (close) turns of the Trailmaster springs are constantly "on block" and thus have no more spring action. I had indeed installed temporarily, but could not be permanent.

The same problem exists in the Seikelfedern that were originally designed items for a slight rally Doka.

After I crossed with my Seikelfedern 2009, thousands of kilometers of bumpy, the Gobi desert, the springs were on the way back to Lake Baikal finally complete at the end:

New feathers:

I have now in collaboration with a very experienced spring manufacturer new springs designed to match my needs.

To give the child a name that I have Andreas springs mentioned. (Sorry, I know of no better name is sunken. )

As one can easily see in the picture, Andreas spring is slightly longer, the wire is thicker and the progressive coils have more distance.

The following properties can be realized:

1) With a rear axle load of 1500 kg (This is my "normal state"), the car has a height of 49.5 cm (Hub center - wheel box), without Höherlegungsscheiben, only with the standard 10mm rubber washer.
The progressive windings have a gap of 6 mm:
Addendum: 49.5 cm at 16-inch-wheel arches; Blechradläufen at about 50.5 cm.

2) In a rear-load of 1850 kg (This is my "travel weight"), the car has a height of 47.5 cm (Hub center - wheel arch). I have determined the measure, as I have tentatively approved a ballast load of 500 kg. The progressive coils have then a gap of 3 mm:
Addendum: 47.5 cm by 16-inch-wheel arches; Blechradläufen at about 48.5 cm.

This means:

Even with the high "travel weight" are still working all Coils of a spring. There is no wasted travel by rigid Höherlegungsscheiben or "turns on block.

This is still a reasonably useful Entanglement guaranteed!

Under heavy compression, for example, bumpy track, but then put on the tight turns, and the spring is "harder".

Watch:

Installation:
I used a hydraulic compressor. Without spring compressor would solve one of the pivot shaft. Anyone who wants to avoid both: My condolences!

The production:

I could partly be a part of the production:

1) The wire is on a program-controlled winding machine (cold) rolled cylindrical.

2) The spring ends are drawn glowing inside.

3) The entire spring is heated to 800 degrees and quenched in oil bath

4) The spring is in the annealing furnace annealed for 1 hour at 390 degrees.

5) After cooling the entire surface is shot blasted to the surface compaction.

6: coating the metal with special paint.

The driving experience:

Although Andreas spring is indeed a mammoth part actually, the car now seems to me a little "soft" because all Turns to work and travel is greater.

Who will drop out?

All people whose car in the "normal state" significantly less than 2.5 tonnes of weight, here are the wrong film.
Likewise, people who are hoping that this spring even a Rolls-Royce-driving comfort.
The spring is for "Africa Through Querer".

Interested?

If interested, I could imagine to have finished a small series. The price would be around 300, - € per pair.
(Seikel for Bernd Jäger: 404, - € / pair)

Front:

I will now deal with it next to the front springs, I think I can present as soon something.

Hi,

as most people have noticed, I've really only for me personally reinforced suspension springs developed.

This project has been completed basically.

As several people have expressed interest, I offer to take an order together.

The properties are in these two threads explained in great detail and need not be repeated again:

Description of Andreas spring REAR

Description of Andreas spring FRONT

The springs are made from a very experienced producer who for 40 years does nothing but produce a vehicle springs. From mopeds to locomotive. He knows what he's doing!

The rust is a dip-coating with a special elastic springs paint.

I am not a dealer or real estate professional, but is this is a Private sale.

The springs have no ABE and no accompanying documents.

The price for a pair (2 pieces) rear Springs is 260, - €

The price for a pair (2 pieces) front Springs is 240, - €

Then there are the shipping costs:

Within Germany: 7, - € per pair

Within the EU: 19, - € per pair

Switzerland & Liechtenstein: 29, - € per pair

Order mode:

1) You: An e-mail to andreaslidl@web.de with the shipping address and desired quantity.

2) I: By e-mail I send you my account details

3) You: transfer money

4) I: shipping after the order deadline. Delivery time then: about 2 weeks (yes, the will then be manufactured first.)

Order deadline:

3. February to 12 February 2011 (Extended to 27 February 2011)

Confidence

I realize that because a few hundred euros should be transferred to a quasi-foreign guy. I'm in the Syncro community but many people personally known, and I think that I enjoy your confidence and no fear that I run off with the coal.

The springs are a special design and are produced only by virtue of the order.

For (possibly) multiple sets are the a few thousand euros, which I can not possibly advance out of pocket.

Technical Questions should be relevant to the thread!

Here in this thread, please only questions about the proper order. Otherwise it gets too confusing.

Greetings Andreas
Although the order date has gone I think he is doing a second batch if people are interested

V quick update on these anyone interested in a group order ??
Hi Paul,

nice to hear about your interesting. I hope, you understand german, because my english is rather bad.

I try to translate:

In this moment the first series is in production, it will be ready in the next 1 - 2 weeks.

This will be all springs, that are ordered until now. (The production was dividered into 2 parts, but this all is the first series.)

When I will have some more orders, the second series can start, but I don't know, when it will be.

It's a good idea, if you post it on club-80-90.

Gruß Andreas

If these are suitable for a 16" I'm interested in both ends, as my increasingly camperised Caravelle is getting lower and lower on it's 21 year old springs.

PM me when the next batch is ready.
