CU engine J tubes square or oval port flanges?

I am about to order some J tubes for my CU 2ltr 1981 T25... I've been told that the CU engine has square exhaust port flanges. I'm worried that in the 30 years that my van has been running, someone may have fitted recon parts etc and as a result I may not have the expected square ones.

Basically I have a choice of square port flanges or oval port flanges. If I buy the square and I find out that these don't fit the guy will not cut the ends off and weld on the oval ones. I have to be right first time. What I need to know before I hand over my money is what exactly are square port flanges and how can I tell if my bus has them or not?

If anyone has a picture illustrating the two different types - square and oval ...or a drawing or anything and where exactly are they located I would greatly appreciate it.

bays had ovals on cj motors

t3s had squares unless someone has retrofitted cj exchangers then yous should be square.

short of taking an exchanger off you wont be certain

Should be square but it's easy enough to check by looking at the heat exchanger . I got my square port j tubes from LA performance for £165. If you look on the LAP website there are pictures of both .

Yes that's right top being square bottom are oval . You should need the top ones but if you need to check just stick you head under the back of your bus all should become clear !
