i did tyr and find this out before , but didnt get the answer.

i think that some early types had a hotspot type beam which is ok , but not sure on the later type.

i spoke to some ebay sellers of yank lights and as expected they said they never had a problem with buyers coming back.`

from a pal in the US

Further, you are essentially asking if the lights for the US market can be used in the UK because we have a lot of square lights at Go Westy. Technically, the answer is no as the beams have a symmetric pattern that provides a lot of glare to oncoming vehicles and there is NO cutoff . They put out a vaguely round blob of light. Whether you'd be ticketed, whether your vehicle's age allows it to be exempt from UK lighting laws - I don't know. But definitely the US lights would not meet UK codes.

so there you have it

Don't know if this helps, but ive just bought a 1990 t25 pickup. and it has a set of american lights I am told, on the Mot it came through as advisory to have beam benders fitted. So... you may be okay without?

If your vehicle was first registered after 31st March 1986, it's headlamp units (and bulbs if applicable), must bare appropriate E-marks, to comply with the current Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations.

. . . and another here (Southampton), at least I will be as soon as I find a decent one (single cab), ha!!

Hi Baldy, that looks very cool in yellow. How do they drive with less weight compared to the vans? (I only have a classic 1976 wrinkly grey Citroen van to compare it with!)

If the road aint a long and winding one, you'll soon get bored!!
