today i took delivery of my 1600watt propex heater,

i have scoured through threads but i am still not clear so i thought to be safe i would just start a new thread,

my propex came with an exhaust pipe witch i no i have to just point toward or stick through a hole in the floor and a gas pipe,

now

do i just stick my gas bottle via a rubber pipe onto the copper gas pipe?

and once i have placed my exhaust pipe through a hole in the floor and an inlet pipe through another hole in the floor can i just connect the 3 wires (2 positive and 1 negative) straight to a car battery (cheap leisure battery) and wire in a 12v switch to turn it on and off? (didnt come with a thermostat) is it ok to do this? i am guessing that since it will just be on or off (for now) will it run at full power when the switch is on and obviously turn off when the switch is off?

is this ok and safe?

also i am planning on putting the heater under the bed, wot is the best way to secure it under the bed?

To be honest that tells you all you need to know
From gas bottle change to copper ASAP. You should have fixings to secure the propex to the floor, if not you'll have to get them. two hole in the floor one inlet, the other exhaust, run them to edge of vehicle.
If your not to sure , get someone to fit it for you. It's very hard to try to tell someone online how to fit a gas heater (impossible) unless you have some idea/experience already

Essentially yes but use as much copper piping as you can with the last part being a short run of rubber piping if neeed, just in case your bottle moves in transit. What kind of connection is on the end of the gas pipe? Maybe getting someone qualified to do this part would be prudent, or at least to check your work.
A picture would help too.

Essentially yes, fused of course. But why not fit a thermostat too which is really the whole point of fitting the heater rather than letting the van go hot then cool then hot then cool?

Depends how you do it and what your grasp of diagrams are

Bolts? Screws? Then you need a duct in the bed panel to a vent for the hot air to blow out, and a vent to let air recirculate back to the heater, as shown on page 4 of the instruction booklet

I'd recommend doing only the part you feel comfortable doing. When I fit mine I will be doing everything bar the gas piping. I will leave that to someone qualified.

ok thankyou so much for all that it has really helped, the only bit i am not 100% about is the intake, does the intake have to come from outside the van? or can it just be pulling air from inside the van around the heater?

air to heat up from inside air to burn with gas from outside!

ok so there are two intakes, i thought this, so the one wich is directly next to were the air blows out of will take in from inside, but the other one on the other end needs to come from outside as this is wot burns with the gas

Make sure your exhaust is well fitted and sealed and can't go pumping CO back into the van. Oh and don't just push the rubber pipe onto the copper, use a proper hose tail and screw it onto a compression fitting.

thanks for that, note taken i am going to buy a c02 alarm before i use my propex at all

Without appearing to be rude I feel that the OP is not suitably adept to be messing about with gas installation going by the type of questions being asked. If the installation instructions cannot be clearly understood do not attempt to do it yourself is the best way forward.
