Look like Canadian spec Wolfs - they love em in the Sand Pit.

The 'stud things on outer rms' are slightly more 'carlos fandango' version of bead locks that off roaders use. Have runflat tyres but stops em shredding/tyres coming off , even runflats come off thr rim at 60

I owned a G wagon and 'kin awesome off road.Did 3/4 of The Widowmaker at Tommys in a standard one with just 235/85s Machos fitted and nowt else

The studs are for split rims and those wheels are called 'Hutchinson' - for anti mine use. Runflats with beadlocks.

I'll be putting this back on the road in a few weeks:



'84 280GE LWB and yes, it will be getting a coat of NATO green to cover the fire engine red. 2 lady owners from new and under 70k on the clock. Same spec as the new 69k 'Worker' model apart from the diesel engine and vinyl seats (mine has plush velour!).

It's also getting 235/85 tyres, snorkel (as the one pictured), wider bumpers and arches, bullbar, light guards, roofrack and uprated (later spec) lighting all round.

Being such a large engine I am LPG'ing it and later fitting the 3.0l Merc car engine (straight swap). this gives more capacity but as the car engines were a different compression ratio the power gain is significant. 150bhp up to 190bhp

And it has only cost me £2500 up to yet.

I fitted a 463 snorkel to mine, fairly easy to do. most un-nerving part was cutting the wing without doing a little nervous wee.

I'm dreading it. Just waiting on the mounting brackets arriving from Germany before I attack it.

I'm sure the wife will love it. It's a step up from a Mk4 Golf Estate

Enjoyed owning one of these for some time, fast and stable, great off the road.
Would like to point out that rear passengers had a habit of operating the diff locks or something like that with their feet resting up behind the handbrake, resulting in me keep thinking there was something drastically wrong with the transmission

I assume that's in a SWB as the difflocks on mine are miles away from the back seat?
