Thats a neat link but doesent put it into context

100% vel is an open window, a closed window will be down about 85%ish, I have yet to come across a tinting film which can be applied to the front windows legaly.

Similarly be carefull of replacing your front windows with factory tints not origionaly for the UK market they will still be illegal and its easy to tell if they are standard ones or not. (lots of the Golf/polo boys our way try it)

anything back of the b post is up to you,

Cheers
Si

what about coloured glass, like the green option on some of the special editions. can you tint to a colour? rather than darker blue for example all round?

Hi

if the factory coloured glass was a standard fitment on a uk car it will most likly meet the requirements, however some imported vehicles have factory fit glass that does not meet the requirements this should have been replaced when the vehicle was imported but it rarely is.

Ultimatly the colour of the tint makes little or no practical difference to the amount of light transmitted through the window.
