Hi all
does anyone know if there's an easy way to change the power supply to the courtesey lights from starter battery to leisure battery? I prefer to use these sometimes when camping as they're not too bright.

Sorry if I'm being thick but can't find anything in wiki specific to courtesey lights. I don't have a zig unit. Have an 87 Autosleeper with control panel for fridge and water pump. Which section of the wiki should I be looking at?

Although it talks about the radio your internal light runs off the same supply.

Fuse number 3 (counting left to right) feeds the courtesy lights, radio and cigarette lighter. You need to disconnect the load side from the fusebox and run a new feed (with an in-line fuse) to it from your leisure battery under the passenger seat. In-line fuse to be located as close to the battery as possible. Added bonus is the radio will now also be powered off the leisure battery too.

my fag lighter must be wired elsewhere as it only works with ignition switched on

somebody's had a fiddle then. Can't see why though - pretty pointless exercise

yes it's a real pain sometimes. Will look into that at the same time

I currently have the relay wired and turning the ignition on and off will switch the relay, fine.

This means the radio continues to run (off the leisure) after removing the key, I must then switch it off manually and then I normally remove the front panel to ensure its not running at all (completely off)

What about that thing in new cars, when you turn the ignition off, this will then kill the radio (as its running off the starter battery) and then pressing the radio on button again, it will then take its power from the leisure battery.

i like the idea of that but mines an 83 van with the old style fusebox

why not fit a lower wattage bulb in your leisure lights?
or fit a new lamp on the existing leisure curcuit
I'm sure you have a "spot light" type... over the cooker?

I fitted LED lamps to my courtesy lights, much brighter and use a fraction of the current, available from Hong Kong on eBay at under £1.60 each delivered.
