v.Early 1.9DG
The water distribution pipe that sits on top of the engine with part number 025121081D is looking pretty rusty these days and I'm wondering what i can do when it goes. I've never seen one for sale, but given that it must be going rusty in every other early DG out there, there must be an alternative. What do people suggest?
You can see one end of it in this pic (couldn't be bothered to take a better one)

Tim

it's an early water system pipe and obsolete many moons ago
I've got the suffix C version new for the day when mine goes pop from ebay which is for the DF engine but will work just fine for my DG.
The difference being the pipe on the left of the crossroads of pipes in your picture is not in that position but further along the length of the pipe. This may explain what I mean viewtopic.php?f=37&t=73323
There is a new 025121081C pipe listed for £80! at
http://www.partsemporium.co.uk/Type%202 ... 0Parts.htm if it is still there
Or 80 odd euros on german ebay
http://cgi.ebay.de/Original-VW-T2-Bj-80 ... 0442589550
There was a 2nd hand 025121081D pipe on ebay for sale a week or two ago. been listed many times without selling. think user was called letshaveabus
Someone on here made up the suffix C version from welded piping viewtopic.php?f=11&t=57831&p=7408787&hilit=+metal+water+pipe#p7408787
Or try Peter at
www.wagonbuild.com or Billy739 and syncrospares on here
Good luck

It'll be a really awkward angle to get a hose from that different pipe to the carb. I take it on the DF it goes somewhere else?

Yes the DF carb postition is different but beggars can't be choosers
On mine that pipe goes to the LPG vapouriser at the front right of the engine bay then back the carb so it will be easier to do when the day comes
