2wd front shocks?

So the springs are longer right, does this mean the front shocks are? If so has anyone ever fitted them when fitting spacers to syncro springs?
I am just asking as the Westy is getting a bit of a lift and before I try the MG beetle shock extenders was wondering about 2wd shocks, and what they would be like.

2wd shocks dont have the spring seat jed. saying that useing a 2wd shock with a coilover tube may be an option.

No. They are about 2.5" shorter and dont have the spring seat. I have an old set of 2wd shocks here for some reason!!

jed why dont you go down the modified lower shock mount route. you should have the pressed arms on the westy so you could weld lifted mounts to them.

Could do, I was thinking about doing what Mike Gear did to his van and extend the top rod. It is much more reversible too. I am only going up abit at the front to be fair to the same hight as the doka when its empty of tools and stuff and that doesnt top out or anything. I was just going to try something cheap. I made the spacers on the back and have just scored some front 40mm lift spacers for £50 so thats enough to spend for now I think the shock extension bits are £12 from GSF.
