Hi all.
Building what I hope to be a very nice Dehler camper to take me on really long distance jaunts.
The question is I have a 130 hp TDI motor from an Audi and want to fit it to an Auto box. Now the reason for this I have a 1.9 dg Reimo at the moment that is auto and am finding it very nice to drive, much better than a 5 speed as in a 1.6TD.
Does anybody know if this option was avalable from the factory and is there a bellhousing that can do this conversion.
I hope I have made this clear.
best regards
John

there's an auto diesel about, came on here a few months looking to upgrade the engine, on alt engines i think, afaik it's a conversion, how it's done I don't know, but i guess it involves an adapter plate as our auto box has a fixed bellhousing
I have a couple of NJ 2.1 auto gearboxes in stock - these are the highest ratio auto boxes which you'd need for a TDi as you need to keep the revs down as the TDi has a limited rev range compared to the old TD or NA diesels

i have read somewhere in an instruction manual for a van a reference to an auto diesel , tho never seen one!

it can be done as you can get a plate to fit a diesel to a petrol bellhousing, straight or canted.

ifyour planning on reliability be prepared to pay!
dont cut costs , price up a NEW engine with all new parts , water pump ,glow plugs ect.

it will pay in the end!
